WOOSTER COMMUNITY BAND
The Wooster Community Band (sponsored by the Wayne County Historical Society) is looking forward to another summer of fine concerts. We will be playing "fun" songs - marches, show tunes, patriotic songs, etc. This band is an effort to remind us of the bands which many communities had back a century or so ago. The Wooster Board of Trade Band with their concerts in the old bandstand in front of the now "Everything Rubbermaid" store was an example of this type of band.
The band will be performing under the baton of Mr Randy Claes of Wooster. Concerts will be June 20 and July 25 at 7:00 p.m.. The June concert hopefully will be in the front yard of the Reason Beall House and the July concert is scheduled to be in "Downtown Wooster" in front of "Everything Rubbermaid". Spectators will need to bring their own lawn chairs. If weather does not permit the outside concerts, we plan to have the concerts in St. Mary’s Gymnasium (across from the Reason Beall home).
We greatly appreciate the wonderful cooperation of the College of Wooster, Prof. Nancy Ditmer, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church!!
The band is open to anybody that plays a band instrument (including percussion), young or not so young, experienced or not so experienced!!
