Orrville July 4th Carnival

Orrville July 4th Carnival Midway at Orr Park featuring Carnival Games, Great Carnival Food, and Amusement Rides from Bates Amusements, Inc. 

The Orrville Firefighters Association 7th Annual "Fire in the SKY" Girls 14u Fast Pitch Softball Tournament at Orr Park begins play at 10:00 a.m. The Fire in the Sky softball tournament sponsored by Century Link for 2010, is a ASA Eastern National qualifier and brings in teams from all over Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. This year 32 teams will be divided up into 8 pools of 4 with pool play games being played throughout the day Friday and Saturday starting at 10 a.m. each day. Pool play will seed the teams for the single elimination tournament which will begin Saturday night and continue all day Sunday. The championship game will be played Sunday night at approximately 8:10 p.m. on "Century Link Field" (the main diamond). In 2009 final four included a team from each state represented: Pittsburgh Lady Road Runners (PA), Rochester Revenge (NY), Mountain Thunder (WV), and the Ohio Hurricanes. The Pittsburgh Lady Road Runners were crowned the 2009 champions and are returning this year to defend their title.

Throughout Pool Play games will run simultaneously on five different softball diamonds in the Orr Park complex. The feature diamond is beautiful "Mizer Field" (the main softball diamond) which is re-named for this event as "CENTURY LINK FIELD" with other games being played on the back softball diamond, Diamonds #1 & #2 adjacent to Ella Street, and the softball diamond located at the Orrville Christian Church located on North Elm Street across from Orr Park. For 2010, this tournament has been designated as a "National Qualifier" Tournament.

Corn Hole Tournament - NEW for 2010 is the Orrville Firefighters Association’s Corn Hole Tournament will be held at the Carnival Midway in outfield of the baseball field at Orr Park (behind the red and white OFFA tent).

32 teams consisting of two people (age 18 and older) will being "tossing the bags" at 7:00 in a double elimination bracket style tournament with the winners taking home $120.00 and the title Orrville Corn Hole Champions! Teams can register by downloading the form on www.orvillefirefighters.org web site or at the Orrville Firefighter Association’s tent any time prior to the start of the tournament.

Friday Night Concert at the Carnival featuring Kevin Blake Weldon - Kevin Blake Weldon will take stage in the Carnival Midway at 8:00 p.m. and will play through 10:00 p.m. Kevin has the ability to write and perform songs that touch your heart, and a smooth vocal style influenced by many of the greats in Country Music. In 2000 Kevin Blake Weldon from Lufkin, TX recorded his first solo album "Hold ON" which produced two TOP 20 Hits! Then while working on some new material in Nashville he went hunting with a few friends and up with a comedy hunting song called "That’s What You Get for Shooting My Buck". Kevin is currently experiencing tremendous success with his BADBOB & JIMMY comedy/parody project "Redneck Hunter" and "Posted Places". He has a national television show "POSTED PLACES TV" and a new CD "If It’s Brown It’s Down", scheduled for release in July.
