Back yard bag pitchers are invited to show off their skills in a cornhole tournament that will kick off an evening of fun at the Bike Night fundraiser for the Wayne County Humane Society (WCHS) on July 15. The fifth annual WCHS Bike Night festivities will take place at the Olde Jaol Restaurant at 215 N. Walnut Street in Wooster.
"This is a fun night for all with good music, good food and all for a good cause," said Kathie Gray of the WCHS Board of Trustees. "Regardless of whether you ride a bike, own a Hog, or even a dog, Bike Night is something that you won’t want to miss," added Gray.
Festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the cornhole tournament, located in the Olde Jaol parking lot. Cash prizes of $150, and $100, and $50 will be awarded. Registration is $30 per team and begins at 4:30 p.m.; for entry information or to pre-register, please contact Kyle or Diane Connor at 330-317-9675.
At 6:00 p.m. Colin Dussault’s Blues Project will play on Walnut Street, while beer, pulled-pork sandwiches, burgers, and hot dogs will be available in the Olde Jaol parking lot. All outdoor food and beer sales benefit WCHS.
Over the course of the evening, attendees can bid on silent auction items, and a live auction will also be held. Among the items that will be on the block are: A trip to Las Vegas, Cincinnati Reds tickets, two earring and necklace sets by Andrea Lucille Shin, trees from ATI, an overnight stay and four passes to Fort Rapids Indoor Waterpark, an Olympus digital camera, a 14-carat gold ring, four tickets to an October performance of Barnum & Bailey Circus, AirTran Airways tickets, a Cleveland Browns autographed hat, Troutman wine, Jim Spires pottery, an airplane flight over Wooster, a golf package at Hawk’s Nest, a Travel Ohio ticket package, a Litehouse Pools Ultimate Family Fun Pack, an autographed photo of Mike Farrell, various pet-themed items, items from local artisans, and more!
Bike Night is made possible through the generosity of Jerry Baker, owner of The Olde Jaol, and the many people and businesses that donated auction items.
