1880s Domestic Farm Living History Day

Visit our 1880s Domestic Farm Living History Day when our Volunteers all work on domestic farming chores on the property 1880s style in proper attire. Learn about the old fashioned tools from the 19th century to garden with, mow grass, do the laundry & ironing, dip candles over the fire, sharpen tools and get your image painted by a local artist. Walk thru the house and learn about cleaning methods for this era, herbs that can be grown for medicinal purposes, & sewing for mending techniques. Visit our special guests, the Marshallville Historical Society with their antique farm equipment, and stop in the Lehman's tent for some homemade ice cream. This family activity promises something for everyone. Event will be held rain or shine. This special tour day supports our nonprofit association's Roof Preservation Project, with a suggested donation of $10 per person.
