Ted & Company Theaterworks, together with campaign partner, Mennonite Disaster Service, presents Boots, Buckets, & Barrows, an interactive live play and auction raising funds for MDS, at Central Christian School in Kidron on Saturday, September 21, 2019. The program will begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening an hour earlier for those who wish to browse the items to be auctioned. This event is based on the original play, The Jesus Stories, written and performed by Ted Swartz and Jeff Raught, with music written and performed by Jeff.
The event will feature the play, interrupted several times by an auction led by Ted and Jeff. It will be an evening of laughter, reflection, good theater, community building, and raising funds for the important work of MDS, rebuilding homes and hope for those affected by natural disaster and climate change. All funds raised during the auction and the accompanying donation-only bake sale will benefit MDS.
The Jesus Stories brings us into various Gospel stories of Jesus gathered around tables. There was food to eat and food for thought, exploring who was invited to those tables and who showed up. The miracles of Jesus were sometimes ordinary stories with extraordinary results. Ted and Jeff offer a fresh look at these stories, blending humor, original music, and unique reflections on age-old stories.
Admission is free and open to the public. Please come prepared to bid! The event is hosted by a coalition of Mennonite churches from Wayne, Summit and Holmes County.
