Ray Leisy, numismatic historian, will speak on “Civil War Tokens of Wayne County”. Otis & Tanner of Dalton is one of 17 Wayne County businesses which offered tokens during the Civil War. Learn what they look like and how they were used.
A numismatic is the study of currency, including coins, tokens, paper money, and other payment media used to resolve debts and the exchange of goods. There will be time at the end of the program for your questions. Do you have any old coins you'd like to share? Bring them along! Public is encouraged to attend.
