English Country Dance

Sunday, August 7 - 4:00 PM

Ages 8 through adult are welcome, and no experience is necessary. All dances taught and
called by Susan English. The dances are done in sets of couples in longways, circle, or square
formation. It is customary to change partners and dance with everybody in the hall. While
English Country Dance is done with a quiet energy, contra dance, its American cousin, involves
more aerobic turning and swinging.

Musicians will include current and past staff of Wayne Center for the Arts--Mike Deyo on violin,
Stephanie Musselman on keyboard and Bodhran, and Teresa White on banjo and
pennywhistle--along with local artists Cid Cayhoe on accordion, banjo, and pennywhistle, Linda
Hershberger-Kirk on cello, and Marcus Ladrach on fiddle. English Country Dance music 1600
to present is arranged by Mike Deyo.

Dancers should bring a personal water bottle for hydration, with mask optional. A donation of
$5 will be received at the door. Wayne Center for the Arts is located at 237 S. Walnut, Wooster
OH 44691. Please park and enter at the back of the building.
