The Escher String Quartet has received acclaim for their “rich, blended sound” and “expressive, nuanced performances.” Currently serving as the Season Artists of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in New York, the ensemble has been heard across the US and the world. Their recent album series featuring Mendelssohn’s string quartets was released to worldwide acclaim, with the final volume listed in the “Top 10 CDs of 2016 by The Guardian,” and several volumes nominated for BBC Music Magazine Award, In 2013, the quartet became one of the very few chamber ensembles to be awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. The quartet’s name draws inspiration from the Dutch artist M.C. Escher, whose works brought together distinct elements to form stunning and intriguing compositions.
