The Wooster area Alternative Gift Market will take place on Sunday, December 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ in Wooster. At the market, shoppers may browse displays representing humanitarian relief agencies around the world, then purchase $5.00 “shares” to give as gifts to friends and loved ones. With each share purchased, shoppers will receive a holiday greeting card and a project description to give to loved ones as an alternative to more material gifts.
World Crafts from Kidron, handcrafted items made by Ghanian artisans, and other fair-trade merchandise will also be for sale, with proceeds benefiting those in need.
A lunch of soup, bread and pie will be available by donation, with proceeds benefiting the Severe Weather Shelter. A pianist from the Ukraine will provide live music during the event.
Trinity United Church of Christ is located at 150 E. North Street in Wooster.
